This will be the 21st camp we have done the first 10 were Christian camps and the last 11 have been self-development camps for those living with disability and brain injury our 2019 camp will have self-development, trust, teamwork, and more in an inclusive environment focusing on peoples future rather than a liable they may have attached to themselves. This change of philosophy is what makes us different from organization whose reasons for doing groups are money and power usually following the legal and medical models; people are stuck in those models and in time get angry, isolated and worse.
We believe that it is time to move forward with our lives, based on what we can do and want to do not on what we cannot do or use to do. Believing that all people should live as independent in their communities as they want and can. We are the best experts about what, how we should live, and how we feel. Living meaningful, on purpose lives by our design
Typically, we lose us hundreds of dollars up to 500 in food, preparing, cooking and serving costs we cannot sustain a camp like this so we are making things more efficient and going to stay in the given budget depending on the people who have ordered food. In addition, looking at ways to cut costs we must break even on meals. In addition, this is before all the work, this year we are hoping to see many people pitch in on clean up in the general area
